She continues, ‘Small durable side tables placed to either side of the swing add both form and function to place drinks, books, or devices while enjoying the soothing swinging motion of your furniture.’
She also notes that colorful cushions, like Steve’s purple option, are fantastic for infusing your space with some vibrancy. ‘As with most outdoor furniture, weather-resistant cushions can add a pop of color to tie in your overall patio aesthetic. A throw blanket goes a long way to completing the cozy look while offering comfort on breezy evenings.’

‘Large plants give your swing area a lush natural touch,’ Lindsay says. ‘Look for large hanging plants as well as potted plants whose containers can tie into your theme and add an artistic flair. Pergolas are having a moment in outdoor design, so consider adding an arch with vines to give your swing location a romantic European feel.’
