Shorewatch Management has earned accreditation for its Home Watch services from the National Home Watch Association (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org).

“The NHWA was established in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada,” representatives noted. “Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues, which means that it is a service that ‘keeps an eye on things’ at your vacation or primary home while you are not in residence.”

All principals of NHWA accredited member companies are background-checked, insured and bonded.

Shorewatch Management owner Kevin Potter was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Montgomery County, Md., before moving to the Bethany Beach area of Delaware in 2018.

“Kevin’s work ethic began early, doing odds and ends for his mother and late father’s property management company. He then began working after school in the greens and grounds department at the local country club. This led him to pursue a degree in turfgrass management at Virginia Tech University. While studying and upon graduating from Virginia Tech, Kevin was mentored by one of the world’s most renowned golf course superintendents. This took him on many stints at some of the world’s most prestigious golf clubs, including Congressional Country Club in Maryland, Winged Foot Golf Club in New York and Riviera Country Club in California.”

After many years in various management positions in the golf course industry, representatives noted, Potter moved on to the private landscape management sector. After managing a local Maryland landscape company’s lawn care division, he started his own lawncare company in 2008. For 10 years, he owned and operated that company, serving residential, commercial, government and sports field properties in the Washington, D.C., and Maryland area.

After numerous years of visiting the shore area and his family in Bethany Beach, Potter decided to change his life. In late 2018, he moved to the area, and a little over a year later, in 2020, Shorewatch Management was formed.

“Kevin’s experience and business strategies developed throughout his career have helped create a reliable Home Watch and personal property management company that meets customer needs. From in-depth home checks, keyholder services, vendor management, concierge services, project management, storm management, and beyond, Shorewatch Management strives to reduce the worry and hassle of owning and managing a home from a distance by being their clients’ eyes and ears when they are not there.”

Shorewatch Management serves Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island and Dewey Beach. Potter can be reached at (302) 299-7326 or [email protected]. Learn more on his website at
