Nice Launches OS 8.9: Elevating Smart Homes to New Heights
With a host of cutting-edge features, Nice OS 8.9 brings more customisation, speed and seamless integration to modern smart homes.
Nice, a global player in Home and Building Management solutions, announces the OS 8.9 over-the-air (OTA) update is now available through Management Cloud. Designed to unify connected devices and deliver a visually elegant, fully customisable user experience, Nice says OS 8.9 sets a new benchmark for smart home systems, offering enhanced security, seamless integration with third-party devices, and greater convenience for homeowners and integrators alike.
Smart Home Personalisation Redefined
Nice OS 8.9 offers a comprehensive update, allowing homeowners to tailor their smart home experience with customisable themes, settings, and geofencing features. Users can now manage their home’s media, climate, lighting, and security with an intuitive system that supports whole-home control with elegant new themes and user experience for all interfaces, including the HR40 remote control. For a fully personalised touch, new location capabilities automatically sync the nearest touch panel with the user’s location, adapting the smart home environment in real time.
“Nice OS 8.9 is all about creating a deeply personal experience for each user,” says Emanuel Bertolini, CEO of Nice North America. “Our platform is designed to simplify smart home management while delivering the elegance and style that homeowners expect.”
Enhanced Performance and Seamless Integration
Building on the Nice legacy of powerful home automation, OS 8.9 is faster, more reliable, and integrates with a wider range of third-party devices, including Apple TV, Roku, Tesla Powerwall, and Philips Hue. New features like Action Events allow users to streamline responses to automated notifications, simplifying tasks such as closing a garage door left open or placing the home in Away mode when no one is home, all without needing to navigate through an app.
For professional integrators, OS 8.9 offers streamlined installation with the Mobile Device Manager, making onboarding faster and more efficient. Integrators can now enjoy improved system security through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) authentication and advanced facial recognition, ensuring that users’ homes remain safe and secure.
“With OS 8.9, we’re giving both homeowners and integrators the tools they need to create a truly connected home,” says Paul Williams, Global Managing Director for Nice Home Management business unit. “This release offers more power, more flexibility, and an easier interface, setting the foundation for the future of home automation.”
