  • Attendees can get landscaping inspiration and speak with experts about lawncare.
  • The event will also feature a children’s garden created by Penn State Master Gardeners.

With spring officially starting on March 20, Erie homeowners likely are starting to think about their next home or yard improvement plan.

The Erie Home and Garden Expo might be able to provide a helping hand on those projects.

The Expo takes place March 21-23 at the Bayfront Convention Center at 1 Sassafras St.

What’s in store for this year’s show?

“This year we have a lot of great exhibits, more booths than before, we’re pretty much back to a pre-COVID event,” Mark Concilla, president of Erie Promotions, said. “There’s a lot of vendors offering products and services for homes, helping to beautify back yards.”

During the show Afton Landscaping will be holding a giveaway for patio and Erie Promotions will be giving away a natural gas fire pit.

On top of landscapers and home improvement vendors, the show will include a children’s garden created by Penn State Master Gardeners.

The garden will be interactive and give kids the opportunity to learn about water and how it benefits the environment.

Ask a landscaper your lawncare questions at the Expo

Following a harsh winter, some Erie residents might be focusing on improving their yards and landscaping.

This show will feature multiple landscaping vendors, such as Dahlkemper Landscape Architects & Contractors.

“We want to stay ahead of the game so we’re looking at what the trends are for landscaping which this show helps with,” said Dave Marino, owner and president of Dahlkemper. “There will be a lot of opportunity to see what can be done with landscaping during the show.”

Marino said he is noticing interests for outdoor lighting, updating planting, butterfly gardening and things that are more traditional for 2025.

The Home and Garden show is also an opportunity for homeowners to start planning and executing their next home improvement plan.

The show features exhibits from local and regional vendors who offer services in home improvement, interior design, kitchen, bathrooms and even roofing needs.

“We display every type of window that we make here in Erie,” Paul Komorowski, managing director of Erie-based Seaway Windows, said. “We have sales reps on hand and the person you would talk to at the show would be the person that would come into your home and offer service. We like to establish a little bit of connection and relationship. The majority of our salespeople have worked for over 15 years and are extremely knowledgeable.”
