Castle Home Management earns national accreditation for 12th year | Local News

GREENSBORO, Ga. Castle Home Management of Reynolds Lake Oconee, has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the 12th year.

The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org). Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues, which means that it is a service that “keeps an eye on things” at your vacation or primary home while you are not in residence. All principals of NHWA Accredited Member companies are background-checked, insured and bonded.

Sheila Smith and her husband, Wayne, became involved with the NHWA in 2013, when they came to our very first North American Conference in Myrtle Beach. Sheila’s questions and suggestions at the event made everybody sit up and take notice of our new British friend, and the friendship was cemented immediately.

Castle Home Management is a Home Watch pioneer in the Reynolds Lake Oconee area and has set the bar high for Home Watch providers.

Wayne and Sheila met in England, where Sheila was a Property Manager. Wayne, who originates from Georgia (USA) but lived there at the time, was working in the disaster management field. Their paths crossed following a major flood in a house Sheila managed. They were married three years later in England.

Wayne is a retired Marine and retired Law Enforcement Officer. Sheila’s 30-plus year career has always involved property and includes Letting Agent, property manager, and Inventory Clerk, to name but a few positions.

The neighborhoods that Sheila, Wayne, and their team serve consider them a vital service for property owners who are concerned about leaving their homes for any length of time.

Sheila has played an integral role in the NHWA; she is a former member of the NHWA’s Advisory Board. Sheila and her employees, Nichole Rocha and Sherrie Cooper, have also earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional (CHWP), placing them among the elite Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation exemplifies Castle Home Management’s commitment to providing excellent service to their clients.
