2025 Arizona Outdoor Space: Luxury & Elegance Revealed

The property sits on over an acre and houses a fabulous sports court with bocce ball and more.
Spread across just over an acre, the expansive lot includes a main residence, a guesthouse, multiple terraces, a luxe pool and spa, sports court, bocce ball green, herb and veggie garden and a secluded wellness spa. The layout is intentionally layered—lush plantings, textured materials and subtle transitions guide guests from one experience to the next without feeling disjointed.
The design team’s careful material selections added visual interest while honoring durability. “We specified different exterior furniture types from teak, woven resin and upholstery throughout to create visual balance,” Hamill says. “Using neutral fabrics as a foundation layered with different prints and textures allowed for each area to develop its own distinct character.”
But perfection wasn’t easy. The lot’s adjacency to an equestrian path brought severe drainage issues. “We implemented extensive grading, underground drainage systems and thoughtful landscaping to ensure proper water management while maintaining the beauty of the grounds,” Tinker notes. “Overcoming these obstacles allowed us to transform a problematic lot into a functional, elegant and inviting outdoor living environment that reflects true Arizona luxury.” Meanwhile, Roots First was brought in close to the home’s completion and was met with strict deadlines. “In many ways, this project felt like building an airplane in the air,” Candelaria quips. “However, it turned out extremely successful.”
The crown jewel? “Picking a favorite space is nearly impossible,” Hamill stresses. “If I had to choose, my favorite area is the primary outdoor terrace.” The space provides the homeowners a delicious moment of retreat anchored by over-grouted limestone masonry and a sleek modern daybed.
After six months of focused outdoor design, the result is a home that lives as beautifully on the outside as it does within. “The homeowners were breathless,” Hamill gushes. “When they arrived for the final reveal, the comment was ‘I can’t believe I get to live here!’”
