Los Angeles-based designer Rande Leaman states this pastel color is set to steal the crown as the trendiest kitchen color of the year, explaining, ‘Clients seem to be responding to the use of light blue color in their kitchens, and it is on course to overtake the popular green kitchen trend.’
‘Pale blues have a calming feel to them and remind people of the ocean and sky. This tone pairs well with fixtures in matte brass or polished nickel. I suggest using it on cabinetry or backsplash tiles.’

‘For an unexpected way to bring in light blue paint colors into a kitchen, try it as a ceiling color. It is a great way to bring a splash of color and contrast to a classic white-painted kitchen. This can be enhanced further by working with lighter shades of countertop materials as well as with hardware choices, moving away from brass to more industrial finishes,’ he adds.
