Egerton Manor, Bolton promotes new management team

This comes after Egerton Manor, based on Blackburn Road, Egerton appointed Joanne Morton as manager and Katie Dorning as deputy manager.

The pair have made an immediate impact, with the care home having been rated “good” in a recent CQC inspection, that concluded it was well led, safe, caring and responsive.

Joanne, who has previously served as deputy manager, said: “Achieving a ‘good’ rating in all areas by the CQC is a great achievement and I am so proud of the whole team. 

“It demonstrates the outstanding efforts carried out daily by everyone at Egerton Manor, ensuring our residents are cared for with compassion and respect, and that they are able to live their lives as fully as possible.

“I am thrilled with my promotion; having been involved with Egerton Manor since day one it is an incredibly special moment to be appointed home manager.”

The CQC report found that residents are “treated with kindness and compassion”.

It also found that there is “an open and transparent culture within the management team with a clear focus on providing good care”.

Qualified nurse Joanne has been involved with Egerton Manor since the care home opened in 2023.

She has spent much of her career in care working with the elderly, an area she says she is particularly passionate about.

Having nurtured the team at Egerton Manor for the last couple of years, she said she is proud of the overall good rating the home recently received.

Away from work Joanne is married with two daughters and enjoys long walks with her husband, jigsaws and shopping with her sisters. 

New deputy manager Katie, who has previously been head of care, has worked in the health and care sector for 25 years.

The home says that her passion to provide the very best care is exceptional and that she leads by example and encourages career development through mentoring and training.

Katie said: “I joined Egerton Manor in 2024 and have worked my way up to deputy manager, with every step incredible rewarding.

“I am privileged to work alongside such a dedicated team.

“I remain committed to doing more and making a real difference to the lives of our residents, creating a warm, respectful and inclusive environment for all within the home.”

Born and bred in Bolton, Katie lives in Harwood with her husband, teenage twins and miniature sausage dog.

In her spare time, she says she loves catching up with family and friends, as well as walking, gardening and travelling.
